If you’re anything like me, you love a free place to stay and you love travelling.

20 minutes from the heart of downtown Chattanooga lies Prentice Cooper State Forest. This is a beautiful park and a peaceful place to set up camp.

There are many different campsites and fire pits at each one made it the perfect place to get our ‘smore on!

Tell me that ‘thang doesn’t look delicious!?

There were only two other campsites being occupied during the entire weekend… but we did come in the winter, so I’m not sure how busy it gets in the summertime. We didn’t have to check-in anywhere and no one bothered us the entire weekend!

We stayed at the campsite right outside the main entrance. This was perfect for us because we wanted to check out the night-life of Chattanooga, coming back to camp to get some rest. The park closes at sun-down so staying inside the park was not ideal for us, although there are campgrounds inside the park if you don’t plan on leaving after sun-down.

There were many different hiking trails and tons of off-roading trails (we were in the Jeep and saw a number of people out with ATV’s and dirt bikes) which we found to be a blast and a great way to spend our last day before heading out.

A view from our off-roading adventures.

Chattanooga is a beautiful city, and the night-life was filled with people of all ages, everyone fit in. We decided to attend a show at The Comedy Catch, in the southside of downtown and it was a fairly inexpensive and fun night. (Tickets were only $20 a piece!) Overall, we had a great time and can’t wait to visit the city again.

I hope you found this helpful and have a great time exploring Chattanooga.

Best wishes,

Nova
